14th January 2021 - AUD/USD finds support at 0.7720, holds a bearish intraday bias

Market Headlines

Wall St was either side of flat in early trade but ticked higher over the NY morning to move into positive territory. Across the Atlantic, European markets also pushed a little higher to end the day with modest gains though the FTSE closed 0.1% lower on the day. US 10 year yields fell 4bps to trade at 1.08% while oil prices also fell marginally and were 0.4% lower on the day.

AUD Thoughts

Chinese Trade Data the main event in this region today, AUD dipped to a low of 0.7722 overnight before settling at around 0.7740 in late trade. The recent double top at 0.7820 remains the key resistance to the topside while demand ahead of 0.7640 will likely slowly any meaningful dip.
